Publishings PHOTOGRAPHY FOR FEATURE FILM & COMMERCIAL PROJECTS For the past twenty years, much of Murphy's professional work as a photographer has been integral within his role as a VIsual Effects Supervisor on feature film and commercial projects. It is a role that has involved creating imagery of some of cinema's most notable on-screen talent, talent extras, movie sets and complex special effects set-ups; both on location shoots and on the stages of Hollywood's major film studios. While much of this specialized imagery is Murphy's direct work behind a camera, often he is also working with talented Directors of Photography, collaborating with and guiding them into the unique requirements of visual effects cinema. The results of this work have found their way directly onto the screen, both as integral scene footage or elements with shots, and indirectly into footage as creative and technical reference of his subjects that is used in creating the final imagery. Some of the notable film titles Murphy has worked on include: Disney's A Christmas Carol, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Constantine, The Matrix Reloaded & Matrix Revolutions by the Wachowskis Start Trek - First Contact, Robert Zemeckis' Forrest Gump and Steven Spieberg's Jurrasic Park For a complete list of Murphy's feature film and commercial work see his Filmography via the menu on the left.
